Toronto Tech Week is the city's largest celebration of its tech and startup community, bringing together founders, investors, and global partners like Google for Startups, Google Cloud, and Shopify for a week of programming across the city. Homecoming is its flagship event — the night that brings the whole ecosystem together under one roof.
Homecoming needed to feel like more than a conference night — it needed to feel like Toronto's tech community coming home. That meant translating a citywide, transit-inspired creative concept into real, physical graphics across an entire venue: exterior signage, check-in, a stage build, sponsor activations, and a photo moment guests would actually want to stop for, all on a tight event timeline.
Wasabi Media took the Homecoming concept — Toronto's subway system reimagined as the ecosystem's meeting point — and built it out in print. We produced a cohesive system of environmental graphics that carried the theme from the street outside to the stage inside, giving every sponsor touchpoint, from Google for Startups to Google Cloud, its own polished, on-brand moment within the bigger picture.
We printed and installed exterior banners and directional signage, VIP, media, and general check-in points, and an illustrated streetcar stage backdrop that anchored the main program. We built a full subway-platform photo activation — tiled wall, red bench, yellow tactile strip and all — plus signage for sponsor stations and cafés throughout the venue. The result: a bare industrial space turned into an immersive, camera-ready homecoming for hundreds of founders, investors, and partners across Toronto Tech Week.
